SHORT FORM IMPROV 101: SHORT FORM ESSENTIALS IS AN INTRODUCTION TO THE FUNDAMENTALS OF IMPROV COMEDY USING IMPROV GAMES. THESE IMPROV GAMES ARE CALLED SHORT FORM JUST LIKE "WHOSE LINE IS IT ANYWAY?". WE FOCUS ON BUILDING TRUST, CONNECTEDNESS, SPONTANEITY, ACTIVE LISTENING, THE "YES, AND" PRINCIPLE, BASIC SCENE WORK, COMEDIC TIMING, AND ESTABLISHING COMEDIC PREMISES THROUGH THE EXPLORATION OF SHORT-FORM IMPROV GAMES AND ACTIVITIES.

Through a mix of classic short-form structures and new challenges, you'll learn how to support your scene partners, heighten ideas, and build comedic moments together. This class is great for anyone looking to deepen their improv skills while working as part of a team.

INTRO TO LONG FORM 201: THIS IS A LONG FROM LEVEL 1 CLASS. THROUGH GROUP GAMES AND EXERCISES, STUDENTS WILL PRACTICE LISTENING, BEING PRESENT IN THE MOMENT, EXPLORING IMPULSE/SPONTANEITY, TRUSTING THEIR INSTINCTS, AND THE FUNDAMENTAL CONCEPT OF "YES, AND" IN IMPROVISATION. LONG FORM CONNECTS A SERIES OF SCENES TO create ONE PERFORMANCE PIECE CALLED LONG FORM.

LONG FORM 202: FOCUSES ON TECHNIQUES to build out the world of these scenes you create. STUDENTS WILL EXPLORE DIFFERENT WAYS TO EDIT SCENES, CREATE GROUPS SCENES, AND MAKE STRONG INITIATIONS THROUGH CHARACTER AND SPACE WORK. students will learn The concept of "if this, then what..." and apply it by creating long form narrative pieces.

Long FOrm IMPROV: CHARACTERS FOCUSES ON THE BUILDING BLOCKS OF WHAT MAKES A CHARACTER, VOICE, PHYSICALITY, POINT OF VIEW, EMOTIONS. THIS CLASS WILL GIVE YOU THE TOOLS TO TRANSFORM YOURSELF ON STAGE INTO SOMEONE ELSE and flesh out the tools you reach for to find someone on the backline.
